In The Liturgy by Louis Weil (from an interview by M.R. Ritley and
Donald Schell) The Red Chapel at Nashotah House (the Episcopal
seminary in Wisconsin) was my major experience of including
children in the liturgy, twelve years in a small chapel where
there were no pews, or even seats except along the outer edge for
parents with small children or elderly people. In the twelve
years of the Red Chapel at Nashotah House, I saw some remarkable
things. We were watching the formation of liturgical Christians.
Children there willingly and fully participated in the liturgy.
It became their own experience, not something derivative. They
claimed it as their own and identified with it. Children are
startlingly direct in engaging signs. I knew one child, an
extraordinary child named Sean, just two in his father's arms. His
parents hadn't decided yet whether to let him have communion, but as
I placed the sacrament in his father's hand, Sean reached out to me
and said, "I want Jesus too." As a rule I don't give the sacrament
to a child until the parents approve, so I blessed Sean and

Madness TeenScreen sets up shop In Illinois The Psycho State (by

plan to screen all Illinois school children for mental health
disorders is set to become a reality on June 30, if the governor
accepts the final proposal from the Illinois Children's
Mental Health Partnership (ICMHP). Illinois became the first state
to hop on the bandwagon for President Bush's New Freedom
Commission's (NFC) plan to subject all American school children
to mental health screening. In 2003, Illinois lawmakers passed the
$10 million Illinois Children's Mental Health Act (ICMHP),
creating a Children's Mental Health Partnership, which many
expect to become a model for other states. The final report by the
Illinois Children's Mental Health Task Force was released in
April 2003 and it is filled with intrusive and expensive
recommendations. The ICMHP held hearings in various locations across
the state in 2004 to gather public feedback on the plan. While its
proposals seem harmless enough at first glance, comments from
parents during the hearings raised many valid concerns. The state,

CHILDREN
IN REVIVAL Children in Revival is a new 416-page paperback
book, written by Harry Sprange and published by Christian Focus
Publications, which tells the story of Scotland's children in
revival over the last three centuries. Harry has carefully
researched the history of children in their significant
involvement in many times of revival in Scotland since 1740. He has
uncovered a wealth of faith-stirring stories from accounts written
at the time, showing children being used by God in ordinary
and extraordinary ways. These accounts give us excellent
illustrations of the type of things we can expect to see happening
with children when the Holy Spirit is at work in power in
families, churches and communities. Graeme Young writes:- "I grew up
in the north-east of Scotland unaware of an amazing inheritance of
revival experience in my family, village and region. The accounts in
